June Update
Update for June 4th:
This coming weekend (June 7-9) is the Indiana-Kentucky Synod Assembly in Fort Wayne. Max and Carol Rodibaugh will be attending as St. Paul’s voting members. Pastor Doug Givan will be preaching and presiding at St. Paul’s on June 9th. Bishop Gafkjen has also created a video sermon on that’s day texts. A link to the video will be posted on St. Paul’s Facebook Page in the coming days.
If you haven’t “liked” St. Paul’s on Facebook, then you should do that now! It’s a great way to keep a little more connected to everything happening at St. Paul’s over the summer.
The first phase of St. Paul’s Listening Campaign was completed in May. The “next steps” will be “Table Talks” to discover more about each other’s families, the pressures they face, and how the church can be more supportive. There are three groups: Grandparents, Parents of young children, & Other parts of the family. We hope for wide participation, so please sign up, either on the boards in the church or online.
This year’s TPA Park service will be held on June 23rd, followed by a picnic. Please come and if you can, bring something to share!
We are also trying something a little new. The worship schedule for assisting ministers is posted online at www.stpauls39.org/guild. If you see a blank spot for Lector (aka “Reader”) and would like to volunteer, just send an email to office@stpauls39.org. Assisting Minister training is held 2-4 times/year. The next training will be this coming fall.
Ever wish you could pick the hymns? Now you can! There are two Sundays in July/August that the hymns have not yet been selected for – these are posted outside the narthex. The text and a list of recommended hymns are provided for guidance. If you would like to select hymns for one of these Sundays, simply fill out the form and place it in Pastor’s box.
